Save the planet - grow your own vegetables...
There are many choices when it comes to deciding what vegetable to grow. While your climate, the space available and your individual tastes will ultimately be the deciding factors, here are some ideas to get you going.
Tomatoes are always a favourite. With impressive glossy red fruit, tomatoes grace the vege patches of many yards in our area.
Potatoes are great fun for children - particularly at harvest time. My kids love digging around in the soil trying to see how many potatoes each of them can find. It always turns into a competition with claims of "hey - I saw that one first".
Corn has always been a staple in our garden. Because of the size of the plants, corn may not be suitable for smaller gardens, but if you have the space this majestice crop is worth your time.
